Simply Huggable!

Hello there and thank you so much for stopping  by today.....

After another busy week at work I am sooo glad its Saturday, ok there is still lots to do at home but at least there are more cups of tea involved! Off to do the food shopping in a bit, and then an afternoon of battling with the stinging nettles at the bottom of my back garden, lies ahead!

Todays card is a bit special to me as I made it for a lovely friend from work who has been promoted and subsequently moved to another store, its always nice to let your friends know you are thinking of them even if you don't see them every day.
this card features:
  • Albie, the Little Cotton Rabbit from Sugar Nellie (ok, so I have re-gendered Albie for the purpose of my colour scheme!)
  • image stamped with memento tuxedo black, coloured with promarkers and added a slight brush of pink chalk to give a rosy cheek
  • papers are oldies from stash
  • buttons and twine added for detail
  • Xcut scalloped edge border punch
  • sentiment created on page plus
I would like to enter this into:
the sugar bowl blog challenge - 124
fresh brewed designs - ribbon or twine

Do you have any nice plans for today, or is it just a quiet one at home.....whatever you're up too - enjoy xx

a bit of "Antique" dusting!

Hello there, and thank you for popping in today......hope this finds you well! What a grim and wet day it has been today......yesterday was gloriously warm and sunny, I cut my front grass, did a bit of weeding and then planted some bedding (Snapdragon and Dianthus)

So it tickled me recently when I noticed that the lovely Squirrel is running a challenge which required dusting off older craft stash, under the name of the Antiques Road show Challenge! I couldn't resist it, so I've been trawling through old files (many of which have had me groaning in shock and horror at my efforts of yesteryear, lol)  until I stumbled upon this once much loved digi set from Cuddly Buddly
I had originally downloaded it in March of 2007, and it seemed only fitting to use some of my earlier dies too.

this card features
  • Mother Bear set from Cuddly Buddly (image and papers)
  • Go Kreate fancy square die
  • Original Sizzix scalloped edge tag
  • Nellie Snellen "doily" circular die
  • flowers and self adhesive ribbon from Hobbycraft
If you would also like to come for a mooch down memory lane, you can find the everything here

31 Day Blog challenge - day 22

So, for some reason this post had been sitting as a draft and didn't "post" on day 22, but in actual fact it was one of my favourite ones to do, so I am a little bit happy to save it till last.

When I started this challenge, it was intended to be a bit of light entertainment for me, and I didn't foresee how emotionally difficult I would find some of the days. That said, I have roared with laughter at some of the responses and I've learned some fantastic things about my lovely blog friends too,  so, thank you for joining me!

anyway back to day 22............

"10 favourite songs"

Sooo many faves, so this is a tough day for me. However, and in my particular order:

  • Crowded House.....Don't dream its over
  • either Journey or Glee cast.....Don't stop believing
  • James......Sit down
  • Train.....Drops of Jupiter
  • Vance Joy.....Riptide
  • Mumford & sons.....I will wait
  • Temper trap....sweet disposition
  • U2.....All I want is you
  • The Killers......Mr Brightside
  • The Pogues and Kirsty McColl.....Fairytale of New York
  • Take That.......Rule the World
  • Let it Go.....from the Disney movie Frozen
  • Geronimo.....Sheppard
Ok, I know its not 10....but I just couldn't bring myself to offload anymore songs!

31 day blog challenge - day 31

"weird quirk of mine"

What just the one???

Ok, well I can barely get through the day without saying "Oh my Giddy Aunt" at least a dozen times. I also have my own words for things, like lids are "liddy-tops", remote controls are "telly box buttons" and I am currently talking to you all via the "wibbly, wobbly web"

I am also particular about the way I eat certain foods, I call it quirky, my hubby calls it fussy!!!
