Happy Mothers Day!

Thank you for dropping in today......if you are celebrating Mother's Day today, then I hope you have a lovely, lovely day. This will be my first Mothers day with one of my kids away, as Megan is still away at Uni until next weekend, then she'll be home for Easter.....sending big hugs to those that are not able to be with their Mum's today. I am looking forward to spending time with my own mother this afternoon. As the weather is a little more agreeable this weekend, I may even venture out into the front garden and make a start on the weed attack that I have been avoiding!

A few days ago I was trawling through a folder of digi stamps and I landed upon this absolute Cutie from Di's that I have had in my collection for quite a few years now, it's always been one that I return to time after time, but it was well overdue a printing and colouring! I went upstairs yesterday to put away a pile of ironing - got distracted....this card is the result, and it wasn't till I went to bed last night that I remembered the pile of clothes still waiting patiently to be put away!!!
Today's card features:

  • Mouse image from Di's Digi's
  • coloured with promarkers
  • Trimcraft Floral Fancy papers
  • sentiment  from LC designs
  • Dies used Memory Box label die, Spellbinders circle and fancy circle dies, Joycraft mini flowers and Butterfly die (magazine freebie!)
  • Woodware corner punch
  • ribbon and lace from local haberdashery
  • dovecraft acrylic dome stickers and doily

Sending Smiles

Good Morning to you all, and I wish you a very Happy Thursday. It's a cold and damp morning here, and I am blogging now, as a bit of a housework dodge....the washing up, the laundry waiting to go in the machine, the wheely bin waiting to be put out, the dusting, hoovering and ironing, can wait till after I've had a cuppa, right!

Enough of that gloomy talk, as my most recent cards have all been DT work, I decided to add a "just for fun" card.....and this was a fun card to make. I was recently lucky enough to win a Little Miss Muffet voucher and this in one of my chosen digi's.....she is a Polka Dot Pal, by the name of Sally and is a little treat to colour. The papers came from a pad that I got in The Works just before I went away to Scotland, and it wasn't until last Thursday that I'd actually had time and opportunity to play - then I opened the paper pad an instantly had that "oh my gosh, these are far to pretty to use, I must save them and stroke them forever" feeling.....I had to push past this feeling, and like I say, I really enjoyed making this card.

Today's card features:
  • Polka Dot Pal, Sally from Little Miss Muffet
  • coloured with promarkers
  • Dovecraft paper stack from The Works
  • balloon die was a magazine freebie
  • sentiment from LC designs

Little Miss Muffet - challenge #159
As you like it - favourite colouring medium - for me it would have to be my trusty Promarkers. When I first started adding my own "colouring" to my cards, I tried watercolour pencils and paints with mixed results, then I started to see the beautiful results people were creating using the likes of Promarkers and Copics, so I took the plunge, bought myself a starter bundle of pro's and have never looked back. I love the ease of use, the range of available colours....and whilst I would be the first to admit, I still have a long way to go with my blending and shading - I do feel confident and happy using these.

have a great day all, and thanks again for your visit xx

Dies and Digi's part 2

Hello there, my lovely Blog chums, hope you have had a terrific weekend. So it wasn't the best weather-wise, but maybe this gave you an excuse to hibernate with at your craft desk, lol. As it was really windy here, I abandoned my Saturday afternoon plans to mow the front lawn, and de-weed the flower beds in favour of a bit of colouring and rugby watching.

So we are now in week 2 of the latest Cutie Pie challenge, with our theme of
Dies and Digi's
our lovely sponsors this time are:

  • coloured with promarkers
  • Dies used: Spelldinders lacy circle, Spelldinders oval, Marianne Designs Butterfly, Magnolia Doohickey Lovely Fence and border

Crafty Friends Challenge - For a Child

Hello there, and thank you so much for visiting me today......hope you've had a great week. Had a pretty busy week since we got back from Scotland last weekend. I always detest the first day back at work after a holiday - it's a "not being able to nip off for a cup of tea, whenever the fancy takes" thing! Anyway, survived the week, the laundry is now all done and dusted and the house is pretty much ship-shape so hoping for a restful weekend.....and very much looking forward to watching the England vs Scotland 5 Nations game this afternoon - I have absolutely no idea of the rules (are there actually any?) of Rugby, but I love the atmosphere and find it such a compelling thing to watch.

Anyway, less waffle and more Crafty Friends news - Yep, it's time for our next challenge and the theme is:
For a Child
our lovely sponsors are

who also very kindly provided some gorgeous images for the team to work with.

I chose the adorable Chloe with HulaHoop digikit......this is the first time I have used these kits, and I have to say that they are absolutely perfect if you need a card at short notice - everything is done for you (and beautifully done too) although even if you have time on your hands the components are fab to play around with. My card will be one of the Birthday cards for Erin, so I added her age - when I decide whether it will be for a Grand daughter or Niece, I will add a sentiment later. I took two of the flower components of the kit to create my own backing paper using serif.

Really hope you will join us for this challenge, why not click here to check out the other gorgeous DT cards and join in with the fun!

There's "No man like a Snowman" for Christmas with the Cuties

Good Morning to you all, my lovely blog chums!

Hope you are fine, well and enjoying a lovely weekend. We have just returned from a week in Scotland visiting family. It's been a smashing week and a great opportunity for my hubby to catch up with one of his Cousin's and an Aunt and Uncle he doesn't get to see very often as well as his daughters and there families......after all of this family visiting I am awash with Tea now, but nothing beats that first cuppa when get get home from travelling any distance!

I have added some photos from this trip to my Facebook page, if you're interested in having a nosey, and I may well add one or two to a future post here.....at the moment I am a few days late adding my  DT card for Christmas with the Cuties, so that will be the matter at hand for now.......
Yep, so our third challenge is now underway and our theme is
No Man Like a Snowman
I must admit, I prefer a snowman that you can print out and colour....rather than one that you have to faff about in the cold with, so I really enjoyed making this card.

Huge Thanks to our lovely sponsor
for providing both, a lovely prize for our winner, and some adorable images for the team to play with.

My DT card features:
  • Build a Snowman - from the Paper Nest Dolls
  • coloured with Promarkers
  • a little blob of Stickles Frosted Lace to enhance the Fur trims and another little blob of glossy accents to enhance to glass jar
  • Dotty paper from Anna Marie designs
  • Snowflake paper was a magazine download - used Serif to change the colour tone to compliment
  • wooden star and acrylic dot from stash
I would like to enter this into these challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge - Use 3B's - Blue, "Build a Snowman" and Banner

Thank you so much for visiting and enjoy whatever you're up to....for me it will be a day of post holiday laundry, shopping and house cleaning before I head back to work tomorrow - lucky me!
